July 29 a representative from HeiferInternational will join us for worship and present a spectrum on Heiferprojects after worship. We hope you can join us. A special offering will beheld on the 29th and the following Sunday. Board of Missions and SocialJustice. 

Heifer International’s mission is to end hunger and povertywhile caring for the earth. For more than 70 years they have partnered withcommunities to provide livestock and environmentally sound agriculturaltraining, improving the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sourcesof food and income. They have worked in over 130 countries and have helped over30 million families lift themselves out of poverty.

Jill Kilty Newburn is the CommunityEngagement Manager for Heifer International in Northern California. Her workwith communities in the Bay Area is focused on community, educational, civicand faith groups.  She also works withHeifer community volunteer groups throughout the state and coordinates a teamof staff with similar positions in the western United States. Her latestendeavor is working on Heifer International’s Team Heifer campaign to inspiresupporters to get out and get active in local fitness events to supportfundraising to end hunger and poverty.

She holds degrees in History and Community Studies and considers herself a lifelong youth activist. Jill’s experience includes running youth summer camps, community youth work and a short time working and studying fair housing issues in the Silicon Valley. She lives in San Martin, California with her husband Michael, some chickens, dogs and horses.
