Checking In & Reaching Out: The Great World House

  • Arlington Community Church 52 Arlington Avenue Kensington, CA, 94707 United States (map)

One way of keeping our congregation strong is by staying connected. You are invited to join us every Tuesday morning from 11:00 – Noon for an hour of checking in, sharing, listening and prayer. No experience necessary. Come as you are.

Discussion Topic:
"In one of his last writings, Martin Luther King Jr used the metaphor of a "World House" to describe our global connections. He wrote, “This is the great new problem of mankind. We have inherited a large house, a great ‘world house’ in which we have to live together — Black and white, easterner and westerner, gentile and Jew, Catholic and Protestant, Muslim and Hindu — a family unduly separated in ideas, culture and interest, who, because we can never again live apart, must learn somehow to live with each other in peace.” Exploring this metaphor, how connected do you feel to other members of the "world house," and what kind of role do you play in the household? What are some changes we could make to help the household function more peacefully?"
