In-Person/Live-Stream Worship: “Vigilent Hope”

  • Arlington Community Church 52 Arlington Avenue Kensington, CA, 94707 United States (map)

On this First Sunday of Advent we’ll begin a new church year asking God to give us “The Will to Dream.” We’ll look to the ancient prophet, Isaiah, a true dreamer, and hear the words of Jesus from Mark 14, calling his disciples to “Stay Alert!” We’ll learn about some of our neighbors who have taken Isaiah’s vision of “swords into plowshares” as a literal call to action (in the best of ways!) Together, these voices call us to “Vigilant Hope.”

We’ll enjoy Special Music this Sunday from our Choir, accompanied by Tim K. Murphy, and a solo from our Music Director, Jeffrey Frederick Paul. Rev. Jen Chapman will preach and lead the service, and Susan Russell will serve as Liturgist. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up.
