In-Person/Live-Stream Worship: "In the Garden with God"

  • Arlington Community Church 52 Arlington Avenue Kensington, CA, 94707 United States (map)

On this First Sunday of Lent we’ll spend some time in the garden with God, digging into the second story of creation in Genesis chapter 2 and 3. Have you ever wondered what was so bad about eating fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil? This story about the “forbidden fruit” has been used in harmful ways, so we’ll do our best to set those interpretations aside and hear the story anew, with open hearts and minds.

We’re excited to welcome Desmond Hartigan-O’Connor, a young organist who has been practicing on our church organ, as he plays our Offertory this Sunday. We’ll also enjoy Special Music from our Choir, directed by Jeffrey Frederick Paul and accompanied by Tim K. Murphy. Elena Caruthers will serve as Liturgist, and Rev. Jen Chapman will preach and lead the service. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up.
