On this final Sunday of Eastertide, and the third Sunday of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage month, we will observe PAAM Sunday, celebrating the leadership of Pacific Islander and Asian American churches and people. As we lament the division and suffering of the world, we will remember the story of the Ascension of Christ, looking for the wisdom this ancient story carries forward for today about power and authority. We will also read some words of encouragement for the early church from 1 Peter 4 & 5 about resistance and power.
Tim K. Murphy will lead us through this week's Hymns and Special Music selections from the ACC Ensemble. Tom Dean will serve as Liturgist and Pastor Jen will lead worship and preach. Childcare will be available during the service for children ages 2 and up.
