Death doulas, also known as end-of-life doula or death midwives, provide non-medical support to both the dying person and their family. Doulas provide emotional, spiritual, and physical support at an intensely personal and crucial time. They assist people in finding meaning and planning for how the last days will unfold. Doulas also guide and support loved ones through the last days of life and ease the suffering of grief in its early stages. This emotional support can make all the difference for a dying person and the family facing a loss.
Julie Derby Jaecksch of Final Season Doula is an experienced death doula. You are invited to meet Julie at Arlington Community Church on Thursday, March 5. A potluck dinner will be served at 6:15 (bring something to share); the program will start at 7:00.
