Checking In & Reaching Out: Heart, Head, or Body/Gut?

  • Arlington Community Church 52 Arlington Avenue Kensington, CA, 94707 United States (map)

One way of keeping our congregation strong is by staying connected. You are invited to join us every Tuesday morning from 11:00 – Noon for an hour of checking in, sharing, listening and prayer. No experience necessary. Come as you are.

Discussion Topic: Heart, Head, or Body/Gut?
It has been said that people tend to be one of three types, “Heart types,” “Head types,” and “Body/Gut types”. Each represents a center of intelligence that we naturally tend to lead from to make decisions. Which one do you think you are?

  • Heart Types: You primarily act through your feelings and intuition, prioritizing empathy, emotional connection, and a positive self-image. You may struggle with shame and how others perceive you.

  • Head Types: You process the world through thought, analysis, and gathering information to feel safe or secure. Your knee-jerk reaction is to be anxious or fearful of future consequences.

  • Body/Gut Types: You process experiences through your instinctual gut feelings, focusing on personal autonomy, boundaries, and safety. Your typical reaction is often to get angry when things don't go as expected.
