We believe the Bible is a reflection of experiences people have had of the Divine over a period of some 1100 years, from approximately 1000 BCE to about 100 CE. It is a library of a variety of styles of literature, including letters, poems, myths, helpful sayings, prayers and songs, and documents that record specific views of history.

We take the Bible seriously but not literally; rather, we look to it to help us experience the Divine in our modern times. It informs our worship and sermons, and we read Bible passages every Sunday in worship to help us hear God’s Still Speaking voice in our world. We are also informed by writings of holy people who have written since the Bible was first codified in the mid to late 200’s AD, as well as holy writings from other world religions, and the revelations that science brings to our understanding of our universe.
